Chocolate Almond Cauldron Mix Recipe
What's in your cauldron? Halloween is all about sweets, and it's always nice to have something to fill up a cauldron - something that everyone can snack on. Chocolate Almond Cauldron Mix is unique and delicious. It can also be made ahead and kept in an airtight container. This fun snack mix has chocolate granola clusters, cereal coated in an almond butter/chocolate mixture, and Halloween candy. It is certainly hard to resist, so it's a good thing it makes a large batch. There will be no leftovers.

60 1/2 Cup Servings

2 cups whole almonds

Chocolate Granola Clusters:
1/2 cup sugar
1 envelope unflavored gelatin
1/2 cup light corn syrup

2 cups semi-sweet chocolate chips

1 16 oz. package granola

Coated Cereal:
1 12 oz. package Crispix cereal

1/2 cup butter
3/4 cup almond butter
2 cups semi-sweet chocolate chips
1 teaspoon almond extract

3 cups powdered sugar

1 12 oz. package M & M's Candies, Autumn or Halloween colors, if possible
2 pounds autumn cream mix, or candy corn, cream pumpkins, etc.

  1. Preheat oven to 350 degrees.
  2. Place the almonds on a baking sheet and bake for 10-15 minutes or until they smell good; remove from the oven to cool.
  3. Granola Clusters: Mix the sugar and unflavored gelatin; transfer to a medium saucepan and add the corn syrup.
  4. Bring the mixture to a boil, stirring to dissolve the sugar crystals.
  5. Turn the heat off and add the chocolate chips; stir until melted.
  6. Pour the mixture over the granola and mix well, You may need to use your fingers to get all the granola mixed.
  7. Transfer to a baking sheet and break up into clusters and set aside.
  8. Coated cereal: Place the Crispix cereal in a large bowl.
  9. Mix the butter, almond butter, and chocolate chips in a microwave-safe bowl; microwave until melted, 3-4 minutes.
  10. Stir well and add the almond extract; pour the mixture over the Crispix and stir to coat.
  11. Measure the powdered sugar into a paper bag. Dump the Crispix mixture into the bag.
  12. Fold the top of the bag down and shake until the Crispix is coated with powdered sugar.
  13. Pour out onto two parchment-lined baking sheets and let dry.
  14. Mix the granola, Crispix mixture, and candy. Store in an airtight container.
