All Your Base Are Belong To Us
Where in the world did this bizarre phrase come from? As you probably guessed, it's a mis-translation, something old Japanese games were notorious for. This particular phrase (and the related ones) are from Zero Wing. Want a great laugh? Here's the whole opening sequence of the game.

Imagine each phrase showing up beneath a low-level graphic image of the appropriate players. The 'good guys' are being approached by the evil Cats.

Zero Wing
In AD 2101 - War was beginning

Captain: What happen?
Mechanic: Someone set up us the bomb.
Operator: We get signal.
Captain: What!
Operator: Main screen turn on.

Captain: It's you!!
Cats: How are you gentlemen!!
Cats: All your base are belong to us.
Cats: You are on the way to destruction.

Captain: What you say!!
Cats: You have no chance to survive make your time.
Cats: Ha ha ha ...
Operator: Captain!!

Captain: Take off every "ZIG"!!
Captain: You know what you doing.
Captain: Move "ZIG".
Captain: For great justice.

*sniff sniff* Moving, isn't it? Especially that last fond farewell the Captain gives his ZIG-troops as he sends them out into combat ...
